S-Perfume was conceived of three years ago (*November 2000) as an extension of my Olfactory Art. The scents used in my olfactory sculptures and installations were sought after by the visitors to my studio and exhibitions. These scents were simply handed out in small bottles when the visitors asked to take them back. This laid back approach to promoting what I believed was great scents gradually turned into a business (otherwise it would never have started!), and these scents were started to be called S-Perfume. Among many bottled scents which left my studio and the galleries, S-Perfume Version 1.0 (later called Jet-Scent) was the only fragrance I have sold 'formally' as a product for three years.

Jet-Scent 1.0 was so unique and impressive that its small vials and the scent were 'shown' in an art gallery in New York City as a visible-invisible sculpture reminiscent of the powerful Pacific waves. Before I was drawn into the world of fragrances my art had always been influenced by surfing, surfers and their unique lifestyle in various dimensions, technically and spiritually. Jet-Scent 1.0 was a perfect tribute to the surf world which has fueled my inspiration for many years. Since the first scent was used in my sculpture several years ago, numerous friends in art, surf and fragrance industry, including visual artists, surfers, surfboard shapers, perfumers, scientists and fragrance evaluators, have helped me shape this new art and venture. Thus, among thousands of fragrances in the world, the first version of S-Perfume became the only fragrance related to surfing in a true sense, and the only fragrance shown and sold in a contemporary art gallery.

This year I am reestablishing S-Perfume as a new art form and finally adding new scents to its unique fragrance series. In addition to our first feminine fragrance 100% LOVE launched in June in connection with my new olfactory installation, our first masculine fragrance HARDCORE (*later renamed S-ex) is due out this fall. My sole focus for all the new fragrances is on what is inside the bottles and not how it would look from the outside. S-Perfume is an extremely affordable and intimate art. These artistic scents are only available through the online store SHAPING ROOM 2000 which has been awarded 5 stars by Yahoo! merchant rating system. As I have been always doing with my Olfactory Art Projects, the new fragrances will be created in collaboration with today's most exciting and talented perfumers with whom I have worked very closely, as well as some new talents that I discovered lately.

I won't let S-Perfume become a mass market brand and will do my absolute best to maintain its extremely original identity in the fragrance market. S-Perfume is always ready for what the big boys would never have the guts for - taking the art of perfumery to unknown heights, like the swells of Mavericks and Jaws Maui!
